The 8th European Congress of Mathematics closed last month! The event was held online from Portorož in Slovenia, and was a big success (despite inevitable occasional technical glitches).
The 100th anniversary conference of the International Mathematical Union will now take place on 27-28 September in the place the IMU was founded: Strasbourg, France.
Nominations are open for the Olga Taussky-Todd Lecture, which is held every four years at the International Congress on Industrial and Applied Mathematics (ICIAM). This honor is conferred on a woman who has made outstanding contributions in applied mathematics and/or scientific computation'.

Many congratulations to Jean-Michel Bismut (Université Paris-Saclay) and Jeff Cheeger (New York University) who have won the 2021 Shaw Prize in Mathematical Sciences for their remarkable insights that have transformed, and continue to transform, modern geometry.
The Azat Miftakhov Day will be held online on Wednesday June 16 2021 from 4pm CET and will comprise talks by four of the world's top mathematicians. The event is sponsored by the Société Mathématique de France and is in support of Azat Miftakhov, a talented mathematics graduate student from Moscow State University who has been detained by Russian state authorities since February 2019.
