1. The **EMS Meetings Committee** calls for nominations or proposals of speakers and scientific events in 2022. The Executive Committee of the EMS, via its Meetings Committee, is willing to provide support that may cover the cost of the EMS Lecturers and of Distinguished Speakers, and to give partial support to the organization of EMS Weekends and of EMS Summer Schools of high scientific quality and relevance. Only a limited number of events can be supported. The EMS is committed to increasing the participation of women in research in mathematics and its applications. Efforts towards giving place to mathematicians of both genders and towards integrating early career mathematicians will be particularly appreciated. Events within Europe and speakers with profound relations to European academic institutions will be given preference. Please submit your proposals before **September 30, 2021**. 2. In order to fulfil its mission, the **EMS Committee for European Solidarity** will undertake actions to foster the development of mathematics in economically less-favoured regions within the geographical area of EMS membership. For this purpose and among other initiatives, the Committee awards travel grants to young mathematicians for presenting results at conferences or attending courses, or for research stays in foreign countries, normally up to a maximum of 900 euros in each case or 500 euros for trips within Europe; offers funding for the organisation of training events and conferences, normally up to a maximum of 3000 euros for each activity and devoted to early-career participant grants. are Sorin Popa in 2009, Ib Madsen, David Preiss and Kannan Soundararajan in
2011, Yitang Zhang in 2013, Peter Scholze in 2015, Akshay Venkatesh in 2017, and

The jury invites nominations for candidates for the 2021 Ostrowski Prize. Nomina-

The Jaroslav and Barbara Zemánek Prize in functional analysis with emphasis
on operator theory for 2021 is awarded to Jochen Glück (University of Passau, Germany)
for his work on one-parameter operator semigroups and their various applications, 
along with several outstanding contributions to  general operator theory. The
Jury emphasized his deep and elegant results regarding the existence of dilations of Banach space contractions and on the existence
of spectral gaps for hyperbounded operators on $L^p$-spaces.

Following a generous donation of Zemánek's family,
the annual Zemánek's Prize was
founded by the Institute of Mathematics of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IM PAN)
in March 2018, in order to encourage the research in
functional analysis, operator theory and related topics. The Prize
is established to promote young mathematicians, under 35 years of age,
who made important contributions to the field.



The awarding ceremony will take place at IM PAN, Warsaw,
in Fall 2021.

*2. Interlinking with other databases and community platforms*

zbMATH Open provides links both to open digital libraries or repositories such as arXiv, ElibM, EuDML, and to external databases including wikidata and the Mathematics Genealogy Project. We aim to integrate as many mathematics open data as possible and interlink them with other databases and services. As zbMATH Open is now open access, it can contribute even more freely to the dissemination of knowledge and to the effective networking of all the different scientific services. This can be seen with community platforms such MathOverflow. Since August 2017, MathOverflow users have been able to find bibliographical references in zbMATH Open and add them to discussions. The corresponding backlinks are automatically generated. We invite the community to suggest and help us develop further links to other databases and services.

Our current reviewer community consists of more than 7,000 experts worldwide. All the same, we are not able to cover as much of the mathematical literature as we would like to. You can provide a valuable
