In cooperation with the Mathematisches Forschungsinstitut Oberwolfach, the Oberwolfach Foundation calls for nominations for this year's Oberwolfach Prize and John Todd Award.

We are pleased to announce the first Indo-European Conference in Mathematics to be held in Pune, India, during January 12-16, 2026. This event is organized by the European Mathematical Society (EMS) and The Indian Mathematics Consortium (TMC).

A summary of recent activities at the Instituto de Ciencias Matemáticas (ICMAT), including an undergraduate students program, news about research on fluid dynamics, upcoming mathematical events, and educational outreach initiatives with local schools.

The Institute of Research in Mathematics at the University of Seville (IMUS), has recently obtained the prestigious ‘María de Maeztu’ Seal of Excellence, awarded by the Spanish Research Agency. The selection of accredited units is carried out through a competitive process based on international standards, with the participation of scientific committees composed of internationally recognized, independent experts.

On behalf of the European mathematical community, we congratulate Dennis Gaitsgory of the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics, who has been awarded the 2025 Breakthrough Prize in Mathematics, the 2025 New Horizons in Mathematics Prize recipients and the 2025 Maryam Mirzakhani New Frontiers Prize winners.

On behalf of the European mathematical community, we congratulate Shigefumi Mori and George Lusztig, who have been awarded the 2025 Basic Science Lifetime Award in Mathematics for their groundbreaking contributions to algebraic geometry and representation theory.

Eurostat is pleased to announce the final round of the European Statistics Awards for Web Intelligence, with a focus on Multinational Enterprise (MNE) Groups Data: Discovery & Extraction Challenges. Running in parallel, these competitions aim to drive innovation, develop new methodologies, and benchmark approaches for processing web content in MNE Group data analysis. Both competitions are now open for registration and the deadline for registering is 22 April 2025.

Our series of interviews with members of the EMS Mathematics Outreach and Engagement Committee continues. For the second issue, we now welcome Elise Raphael, who has been a Committee member since 2024. Elise is the Scientific Officer of the SwissMAP Research Station and Co-director of Genève Évasions Mathématiques (G·EM), a mathematical outreach center affiliated with the University of Geneva.

The Women in Mathematics Committee (WiM) of the European Mathematical Society is proud to announce the EMS Women in Mathematics Day 2025. This special event is organized as part of the "May 12th" initiative, a worldwide celebration of women in mathematics in memory of Maryam Mirzakhani, the first woman to receive the Fields Medal.

The Banach Center is inviting applications for funding support for scientific events, including conferences, semesters, and forums, through its annual competition with a deadline of May 5, 2025 (for events planned during 2025–2027).
