The 14th international conference on Fixed Point Theory and its Applications

    Conference

The conference aims to bring together leading experts and researchers in fixed point theory and to assess new developments, ideas, and methods in this important and dynamic field. A special emphasis will be put on applications in related areas and other sciences, such as the natural sciences, medicine, economics, and engineering. The conference will continue the tradition of the previous fixed point theory meetings, which were held in Marseille (1989), Halifax (1991), Seville (1995), Kazimierz Dolny (1997), Haifa (2001), Valencia (2003), Guanajuato (2005), Chiang Mai (2007), Changhua (2009), Cluj (2012), Istanbul (2015), Newcastle(2017), and HeNan (2019) The conference will be dedicated to the memory of Professor Wataru Takahashi (1944–2020), Professor Kazimierz Goebel (1940–2022), and Professor William Art Kirk (1936-2022).

Logical Methods in Ramsey Theory and Related Topics

    Workshop

Logical Methods in Ramsey Theory and Related Topics July 10 - July 11, 2023, Pisa, Italy https://events.dm.unipi.it/e/ramsey2023pisa Dear all, We are happy to announce that registration for the upcoming event "Logical Methods in Ramsey Theory and Related Topics", which will be held in Pisa (Italy) from July 10th to July 11th, 2023, is now open. REGISTRATION: The deadline for registrations is ***SATURDAY, JUNE 10th***. There is no registration fee, but completing the registration form is mandatory. Students, early career researchers, and participants from disadvantaged countries can apply for support during the registration procedure. Participants traveling with young children can also apply for childcare support. Details for the registration and grant applications can be found on the conference website. The workshop is centered around the interplay between mathematical logic and combinatorics. Its main goals are: Disseminate information about various logical techniques used in several areas of combinatorics and related topics; Bring together researchers with different backgrounds, and encourage their collaborations and interactions, especially on topics connecting different areas of mathematics. The covered topics include (but are not limited to): Nonstandard methods in combinatorics and Ramsey Theory; Model-theoretical methods in density theory for semigroups; Reverse mathematics of combinatorial principles; Set theory and ultrafilter methods; Computational limits to finite provability and proof complexity; Quasi-orders and applications. ECMI Modelling Week 2023

    modeling week

Students come from all over Europe to spend a week working in small groups on projects which are based on real-life problems. Each group is led by an ECMI instructor who introduces the problem – usually formulated in non-mathematical terms – on the first day, and then helps to guide the students to a solution during the week. The students present their results to the other groups on the last day and then write up their work as a report. The main aims of these Modelling Weeks are: train students in Mathematical Modelling and stimulate their collaboration and communication skills, in an international environment. Please check the webpage for further details: http://www.math.u-szeged.hu/ECMI2023/
