The American Mathematical Society (AMS), European Mathematical Society (EMS), London Mathematical Society (LMS), and Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) have worked together to address the challenges in publishing accessible mathematics content online.

Nominations are still open for the EMS/ECMI Lánczos Prize for Mathematical Software, recognising outstanding mathematical software with significant applications across science, engineering, society, and industry. Deadline on 31 December 2025.

Simion Filip and Vadim Gorin to receive the 2026 AMS–EMS Mikhail Gordin Prize that recognises outstanding contributions in probability or dynamical systems, with preference given to early-career mathematicians from or professionally connected to an Eastern European country.

The EMS Council meeting will be held in Lisbon, Portugal on June 27–28, 2026 at the Academia das Ciências de Lisboa. The main tasks of the Council will include discussing the activities of the EMS in the past two years, discussing and approving the budget for 2027-2028, and electing the new EMS President and Vice-President and other members of the Executive Committee. Vesselin Dimitrov and Vlad Vicol receive the 2025 Fermat Prize for breakthroughs in number theory, Diophantine geometry, and the analysis of fluid mechanics and turbulence.

The European Mathematical Society is thrilled to announce its Lecture Series on Mathematics Education uniting leading experts to explore critical issues and innovative approaches in mathematics teaching, curriculum design, and policy making.

These engaging one-hour webinars will occur on the second Friday of each month from January to June 2026. The first 3 lectures will take place at 7 PM CET and the last 3 lectures at 7 PM CEST.

The lectures will be moderated by Dr Tom Crawford.
