Third Balkan Mathematics Conference to take place in Edirne in 2027

The Third Balkan Mathematics Conference (BMC III) will take place from 10 to 12 June 2027 at the Balkan Congress Center of Trakya University in Edirne, Türkiye.

The Balkan Mathematics Conference is a biennial regional conference series organised under the auspices of the European Mathematical Society and supported by the Mathematical Society of South Eastern Europe (MASSEE). The series aims to bring together mathematicians from the Balkan and neighbouring countries while welcoming participants from across the international mathematical community. The first BMC was held in Pitești, Romania, in 2023, followed by BMC II in Thessaloniki, Greece, in 2025.

BMC III will feature six invited speakers:

• Ana Agore, Institute of Mathematics of the Romanian Academy, Romania
• Mine Çağlar, Koç University, Türkiye
• Mihalis Dafermos, Princeton University, USA
• Emmanuil Georgoulis, National Technical University of Athens, Greece
• Marina Iliopoulou, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece
• Daniel Smertnig, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia

The programme will also feature ten early-career speakers from institutions across Europe, selected by the scientific committee.

Registration and participation

Registration for BMC III is free of charge, but participants are asked to register in advance using the form on the conference website.

Oral sessions are by invitation only, while poster submissions are open to all researchers and graduate students. Participants wishing to present a poster should submit a provisional title and abstract through the registration form.
