The European Mathematical Society warmly congratulates Professor Ofer Zeitouni of the Weizmann Institute of Science and the NYU Courant Institute, who has been awarded the 2026 Paul Lévy Prize in Probability Theory.

The prize is presented during the 45th Conference on Stochastic Processes and their Applications, held in Ithaca, New York, USA, from 14 to 20 June 2026. The award was announced today on Tuesday, 16 June, and Professor Zeitouni will deliver the Paul Lévy Prize Lecture at the conference on Wednesday, 17 June.

Professor Zeitouni is a leading figure in probability theory. His work has made fundamental contributions to large deviations theory, random matrices, motion in random media, and the extremes of logarithmically correlated fields.

The Paul Lévy Prize was created jointly by the EMS, École Polytechnique, the Fondation de l’École Polytechnique and Paul Lévy’s family, with the support of BNP Paribas. It honours outstanding contributions to probability theory and its applications and is awarded every two years.
