EMS CDC: Call for ERCE Recognition 2027–2030
The EMS Committee for Developing Countries invites applications for the Emerging Regional Centres of Excellence recognition.

The Emerging Regional Centres of Excellence (ERCE)recognition is awarded by the EMS CDC to centres of mathematics in the Global South that have achieved a substantial level of research activity and play a key role in training students in their region, including students from less developed neighbouring areas. The recognition is granted for a period of four years and is renewable.
To be considered for ERCE recognition, centres should demonstrate:
- strong scientific standing and regional collaboration;
- excellence in research and teaching;
- an international outlook and sustainable long-term prospects;
- commitment to educating graduate students from neighbouring regions;
- Master’s and, ideally, PhD programme offerings;
- openness to international collaboration and visiting mathematicians.
Applications should describe the centre’s vision, institutional background, academic environment, educational programmes, student training activities, and four-year development plans.
