Two Postdoctoral Scholarship in Dynamical Systems

The Dynamical Systems Group of the Institute of Biosciences, Letters and Exact Sciences at São Paulo State University (IBILCE-UNESP, São José do Rio Preto) invites applications for two postdoctoral positions. One candidate will be selected to conduct a research project in Continuous Dynamical Systems and another in Discrete Dynamical Systems. The positions are for two years, with the possibility of extension. We are seeking candidates with strong research potential in areas of interest to the group. 1 Continuous Dynamical Systems: Piecewise smooth systems, limit cycles, invariant tori, structural stability, and regularization processes. 2 Discrete Dynamical Systems: Symbolic dynamics, topological dynamics, ergodic theory, dynamics and number theory. The research activities are funded by FAPESP, the research funding agency of the state of São Paulo, as part of the Thematic Project “Ergodic and Qualitative Theory of Dynamical Systems III” (Grant #2024/15612-3), and will be carried out at IBILCE-UNESP in São José do Rio Preto.

• A monthly stipend of 12,570.00 BRL (tax-free),
• An additional 15% of yearly income for research-related expenses,
• Start-up costs, including air travel and one extra month of pay,
• Maternity and paternity leave as described at https://fapesp.br/en/postdoc,
• Reimbursement of the social security contribution to the National Institute of Social Security (INSS), according to the rules at https://fapesp.br/16951 and https://fapesp.br/16953. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. by the start date of the fellowship and must have obtained their degree no more than seven years prior to that date.
