Tenure-Track Professorship in Partial Differential Equations for Contemporary Societal Challenges
University of Vienna | Vienna, Austria
Classification: Partial Differential Equations
We seek candidates with an outstanding research profile in applied or computational PDEs, who apply their expertise to address contemporary societal challenges. Areas of application may include, but are not limited to, climate modeling, ecology and biodiversity, next generation materials, renewable energy systems, medical and neurosciences, and the dynamics of complex social systems. The successful applicant is expected to complement the faculty's ongoing research activities in the field of applied and computational PDEs in a coherent manner. Current research covers a wide range of applications, including biology, materials science, and astrophysics, and uses a variety of approaches, such as stochastic processes, kinetic theory, variational analysis, finite element methods, and data-driven techniques. The Vienna School of Mathematics doctoral program offers excellent conditions for doctoral training at the highest level in all areas of mathematics and promotes interdisciplinary and intradisciplinary cooperation. https://mathematik.univie.ac.at/en/research/applied-and-computational-partial-differential-equations/
