Appointment period: 2 years, initially Appointment type: Full time Position starting date: July 1, 2026, or by agreement Deadline for applications: March 31, 2026 Gross salary: CZK 50 000 – 60 000 per month, depending on experience The Institute of Mathematics of the Czech Academy of Sciences is seeking a researcher with experience in the fields of mathematical logic, computational complexity, proof complexity or set theory. The Department of Mathematical Logic and Theoretical Computer Science, in which the successful applicant will work, has a tradition of excellent research in these fields. The ideal applicant is a young researcher who has achieved significant results in this area. This is a tenure track type position; after two years, the candidate will be evaluated and, in the positive case, offered a long-term position in accordance with the Career Development Rules of the Czech Academy of Sciences. Successful applicants are expected to perform research and take part in all other activities of the Department such as organization and active participation at seminars, workshops, and conferences. No teaching is involved. We require verbal and written English communication skills and abilities to work both independently and collaboratively. The selection committee will evaluate the publication record, as well as other activities and professional achievements of the applicants, with respect to the stage of their career.
