Classification:

The Department of Mathematics at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland, invites applications for one or several 1-year postdoctoral positions in Mathematics under the supervision of Professor Stefan Wenger. The ideal candidates will be conducting internationally recognized research in the area of Analysis/Geometry, in a domain such as, but not limited to, Geometric Analysis, Geometric Measure Theory, Sub-Riemannian geometry, or Metric Geometry. The positions come as part of a Swiss National Science foundation project studying fundamental questions related to uniformization problems in non-smooth spaces, mapping problems in sub-Riemannian geometry, and isoperimetric problems in groups using novel techniques from geometric analysis and geometric measure theory. The successful candidates will contribute to the vibrant research environment of the department and will be integrated into the research groups in Geometric Analysis and Non-Smooth Geometry. The positions come with a competitive salary and a light teaching load, usually in the form of a teaching assistantship. A good command of English is required. Moreover, a certain degree of fluency in German or French is an advantage. Applications should include a short letter of motivation, a curriculum vitae (including a publication list and names and addresses of 3 possible references), as well as a concise research statement of 3 – 4 pages at most (if possible, in a single pdf file).
