Postdoctoral Position in Geometry at ICMAT

The appointed researcher will join a collaboration project led by Oscar García-Prada and Jochen Heinloth, dedicated to the study of the topology of moduli spaces of G-Higgs bundles on compact Riemann surfaces, as well as the closely related moduli spaces of Hodge bundles and character varieties of surface group representations in complex and real reductive Lie groups G. While these spaces have been extensively investigated in the case of the complex general linear group, for general reductive groups even their most basic invariants remain undetermined. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Mathematics and possess a solid background in Algebraic Geometry. We offer an interdisciplinary research environment and opportunities for collaboration with our partner team at Universität Duisburg-Essen. The position carries no teaching duties.
