PhD Position in Number Theory

A PhD scholarship in the field of Number Theory is available at UNSW Sydney. The successful candidate will be supervised by Associate Professor Alina Ostafe, and, based on background and experience, they are expected to work in one of the areas of: Diophantine Specialisation Problems, Arithmetic Dynamics, or Arithmetic Statistics. About you: Candidates should have an Honours degree or a Master degree (or equivalent) in Mathematics, with an overall GPA of at least 90%. Candidates should also have a strong background in algebra and number theory (algebraic and/or analytic), proven by relevant coursework and a written Honours or Master thesis.
