Nine Postdoctoral Positions in Mathematics and Computer Science (2026IPD14)

Department of Mathematics “Tullio Levi-Civita”, University of Padua | Padova, Italy

Classification: Informatics; Mathematical Logic; Algebra; Mathematical Analysis; Probability and Mathematical Statistics; Mathematical Physics; Operations Research; Mathematical Finance

The Department of Mathematics “Tullio Levi-Civita” at the University of Padua invites applications for nine full-time, fixed-term postdoctoral positions under call 2026IPD14. Each appointment has a duration of 12 months and an annual gross amount for the appointee of EUR 30,456. The available profiles and research areas are: INFO-01/A, code 22204: mathematical modelling and algorithms for distributing and executing large language models over drone networks; MATH-01/A, code 22213: categorical methods in mathematical logic and foundations, with emphasis on Gödel incompleteness; MATH-02/A, code 22234: algebraic groups, Weyl group representations, flag varieties and Springer correspondence; MATH-03/A, code 22225: geometric analysis in anisotropic and sub-Riemannian settings, including shape optimisation, isoperimetric problems and geometric flows; MATH-03/A, code 22228: extremal curves and regularity problems in sub-Riemannian geometry; MATH-03/B, code 22216: probabilistic methods for disordered and non-equilibrium statistical-mechanics systems; MATH-04/A, code 22222: fluid-resonator dynamics, Navier-Stokes flows and spectral analysis; MATH-06/A, code 22219: mathematical and computational optimisation for data and image processing; STAT-04/A, code 22231: stochastic modelling of cyber risk and optimal cybersecurity investment. Applicants must hold a PhD or an equivalent qualification by the application deadline. Special provisions apply to qualifications obtained outside Italy; applicants should consult the official call carefully regarding recognition requirements. Teaching, teaching-support and/or outreach duties may form part of the appointments, as specified in the individual annexes. Applications, qualifications, supporting documents, and the permitted number of publications or other research outputs must be submitted electronically through the PICA platform. Publication limits differ by profile, and exceeding the applicable limit may result in exclusion. Candidates should therefore consult both the general call and the relevant numbered annex before applying. Selection is based on the scientific and professional curriculum, publications or other documented research outputs, and an oral examination. The interview may be held in Italian or English. Knowledge of English will be assessed; foreign applicants may also be assessed for their knowledge of Italian. Apply through PICA: https://pica.cineca.it/unipd/2026ipd14/ Deadline: 29 September 2026 at 13:00 Italian time (CEST). Administrative enquiries: reclutamento.docenti@unipd.it. The University of Padua guarantees equality and equal opportunities in access to employment and treatment at work. The Italian versions of the call and annexes are legally authoritative in the event of discrepancies with the English translations.
