IMSSRS is a free conference welcoming high school, community college, undergraduate, and graduate students to present research in the mathematical sciences, explore current research topics, and connect with peers worldwide. This year’s program features a plenary by Dr. Katherine B. Ensor (Rice University) titled “The Critical Role of Statistical Thinking, Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow.” The program also includes a panel discussion, “Life After College,” on career paths for mathematical science graduates, with audience Q&A. The abstract submission deadline is March 27, 2026. While presenters must be students, all are welcome to attend. Please visit the event website for details.

Fluid-Flows on Riemannian Manifolds and the Navier-Stokes Equations

    Seminar

The study of fluid flows on Riemannian manifolds generalizes the classical theory of fluid dynamics in Euclidean space to curved spaces. This extension is motivated both by applications and by intrinsic mathematical interest in the interplay between partial differential equations and differential geometry. Central to this theory is the formulation of the Navier-Stokes equations on a Riemannian manifold, which describe viscous fluid motion subject to the geometry of the underlying space. Some basic questions are: (Formulation) How should the Navier-Stokes equations be correctly expressed on a general Riemannian manifold? (Well-posedness) Do the standard questions of existence, uniqueness, and regularity of solutions extend naturally to manifolds? Deadline for application: 15 February 2026

    Knots and Their Interdisciplinary Applications

    Seminar

In this seminar leading experts introduce key elements of mathematical knot theory and discuss physical applications, from vortex dynamics to magnetic fields, from polymer physics to proteins and DNA biology. Topics include an introduction to knots, links and braids, knot invariants and related algebraic structures. From knotoids and linkoids to the real world of physical entanglements, the mathematical tools of knot theory become essential to describe natural phenomena around us. Deadline for application: 15 February 2026

Workshop on Potential Theory and Geometric Function Theory in Metric Spaces

    Workshop

The field of Analysis in Metric Spaces has experienced remarkable growth over the past three decades and now sits at the crossroads of potential theory, geometric measure theory, geometric function theory, and partial differential equations. Its influence extends to diverse areas such as dynamical systems, geometric group theory, and synthetic differential geometry. Our aim is to gather a vibrant and diverse community of leading experts and emerging researchers to share recent breakthroughs, explore new directions, and foster meaningful collaborations across disciplines.

5th International Conference on Dynamics of Differential Equations In memory of Jack K. Hale

    Conference

This is 5th International Conference on Dynamics of Differential Equations – in Memory of Jack K. Hale. The series was established through the joint effort of research groups in the dynamics of differential equations across the Americas, Asia, and Europe, with a scientific focus on the advancement and application of dynamical systems generated by differential equations and their discrete analogs. Previous meetings took place at Georgia Tech, Atlanta, USA (2013), CIRM, Luminy, France (2016), Hiroshima University, Hiroshima, Japan (2018), and Fields Institute, Toronto, Canada (2023). Each conference in the series features a distinguished Hale Lecture, honoring the legacy of Prof. Jack K. Hale. Previous Hale Lectures were given by Geneviève Raugel (2013), Peter Poláčik (2016), Hiroshi Matano (2018), and John Mallet-Paret (2023). The 5th Hale lecture will be given by Rafael de la Llave (Georgia Tech, USA). Young researchers are strongly encouraged to participate and present a poster.
