Recent Progress on Optimal Point Distributions and Related Fields

    ICERM Workshop

Numerical solutions to optimization problems are used to study the putative geometric and arithmetic structure of the corresponding optimal configurations. As such, there is a need to expand the use of numerical and computational methods to solve these problems. Our goal is to provide a forum to explore problems in point configurations and distributions from the various aforementioned perspectives.

13th School on Analysis and Geometry in Metric Spaces

    School

The aim of the school is to offer glimpses on the present state of research on geometric measure theory in Carnot-Caratheodory groups and in more general metric spaces. Analysis and Geometry on these structures has been object of extensive research in the last years, with applications ranging from degenerate elliptic equations to optimal control theory and differential geometry. It is intention of the organizers to encourage informal discussions among young and well-known researchers on current developments in the area.

RaTLoCC24: Ramsey Theory in Logic, Combinatorics and Complexity

    Workshop

We are happy to announce that registration for the upcoming event "RaTLoCC24: Ramsey Theory in Logic, Combinatorics and Complexity", which will be held in Pisa (Italy) from June 11th to June 14th, 2024, is now open. The workshop wants to offer an opportunity for the communities working in proof theory of arithmetic, in reverse mathematics, in finite and infinite combinatorics of Ramsey theory, in proof complexity, and in bounded arithmetic, to be exposed to one another's recent results, methods, and goals. The goals of the workshop are to stimulate the interaction between researchers in the above-mentioned areas, to enhance the transfer of methods from one area to the other, as well as to set the ground for a unifying view on the logico-combinatorial study of combinatorial principles, such as Ramsey-type statements. The workshop is in its fourth edition, and it is part of the PRIN 2022 project "Logical methods in combinatorics" funded by MIUR (Italian Ministry of University and Research). For info on past editions see http://wwwusers.di.uniroma1.it/~carlucci/RaTLoCC18/index.html, http://wwwusers.di.uniroma1.it/~carlucci/RaTLoCC11/index.html, and http://wwwusers.di.uniroma1.it/~carlucci/RaTLoCC09/index.shtml. Scientific Committee: Lorenzo Carlucci (Sapienza Università di Roma) Raphaël Carroy (Università di Torino) Peter Cholak (Notre Dame University) Mauro Di Nasso (Università di Pisa) Nicola Galesi (Sapienza Università di Roma) William Gasarch (University of Maryland) Renling Jin (College of Charleston) Lorenzo Luperi Baglini (Università di Milano) The current list of invited speakers is: Ryan Alweiss (University of Cambridge) Sam Buss (University of California, San Diego) Michele D'Adderio (Università di Pisa) Noé de Rancourt (Charles University, Prague; TBC) Natasha Dobrinen (University of Notre Dame) Damir Dzhafarov (University of Connecticut) Maria-Romina Ivan (University of Cambridge) Imre Leader (University of Cambridge) Alberto Marcone (Università di Udine) Amador Martin-Pizarro (Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg) Rosario Mennuni (Università di Pisa) Jaroslav Nešetřil (Charles University, Prague) Ludovic Patey (CNRS, IMJ-PRG-Université Paris Cité) Pavel Pudlák (Mathematical Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences) Mariaclara Ragosta (Università di Pisa) Salvatore Scamperti (Università di Torino; TBC) Philippe Schnoebelen (LSV, CNRS, ENS Paris-Saclay) REGISTRATION: The deadline for registrations is ***MONDAY, MAY 13th***. There is no registration fee, but completing the registration form that can be found on the website of the conference is mandatory. We cannot offer grants or accommodation for participation at the conference. Please notice that all talks will be given by invited speakers, so there will be no contributed talks. Those who need more information can contact the organizers at: ratlocc24@gmail.com. We hope to see you in Pisa! Best regards, The Organizers

    Workshop on Probabilistic Field Theories

    Workshop

This 3-days workshop delves into the multifaceted world of probabilistic field theories, aiming at sharing insights, presenting novel methodologies, and fostering new collaborations. We plan to gather distinguished experts and young researchers at the intersection of probability theory and field theory, understood in the wide sense encompassing mathematical quantum field theory, stochastic partial differential equations, fluid dynamics and homogenization, also including applications to algebraic field theory, dynamical systems, statistical mechanics, and particle models. Our plan is to hold a meeting combining a few communities in a friendly atmosphere.

Current Trends in Kähler Metrics with Special Curvature Properties

    Conference

This is a conference in complex geometry. The scientific root of this event goes back to the seminal works of E. Calabi in the 1950s, who proposed to find a canonical Kähler metric, called extremal, representing a cohomology class of a compact Kähler manifold. Calabi showed that in this setting, the search for extremal Kähler metrics can be reduced to solving a non-linear PDE. A particular example of extremal Kähler metrics are the celebrated Kähler-Einstein metrics whose existence theory is now settled, starting with the resolution of Calabi’s famous conjecture by Aubin and Yau in the 1970s (the non-obstructed case), and culminating in recent times with the resolution of the Yau-Tian-Donaldson (YTD) conjecture in the obstructed Fano case. These efforts motivated a general YTD correspondence, which predicts that the existence of special Kähler metrics should be expressed in terms of a suitable complex-analytic/algebraic notion of stability of the underlying complex/projective variety. The conference will present the recent progress in both analytic and algebraic approaches.
