Postdoc positions - Models and filtrations in tensor triangular geometry
Institute of Mathematics, Czech Academy of Sciences | Prague, Czech Republic
Classification:
Two postdoc positions are available as part of the Lumina quaeruntur project at the Department of Algebra, Geometry and Mathematical Physics of the Institute of Mathematics of the Czech Academy of Sciences (IMCAS), coordinated by Dr. Michal Hrbek. The focus of the project is to significantly advance the understanding of tensor triangular geometry by exploring models and decompositions associated with filtrations of the Balmer spectrum. This research bridges disciplines by extending the rich theory of tilting derived equivalences - well-established in representation theory and recently expanded into commutative algebra - to the broader setting of tensor triangular geometry, including various flavours of stable homotopy theory. We invite applications from those with experience in one or more of these areas. Applications are invited from candidates who have completed their PhD within the last 4 years (or will have completed it before the time of hiring). The position does not include any teaching duties. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Dr. Hrbek, will have funds for travelling to conferences and research visits, as well as for inviting external research collaborators. The selection committee will evaluate the publication record, as well as other activities and professional achievements of the applicants, with respect to the stage of their career. We offer affordable accommodation in the building of the Institute for the first 3-6 months. Questions and informal inquiries should be directed to Dr. Michal Hrbek at his email address hrbek@math.cas.cz Please apply ONLY through our online application system https://application.math.cas.cz/Positions.html where you can also find more details in the official announcement.
